Soldiers Isolated In Quebec Hospital

QUEBEC — Three soldiers recently returned from Afghanistan with a drug-resistant bacteria are being treated in a Quebec City hospital.

The soldiers are in stable condition at L'Hopital de l'Enfant-Jesus but they have been isolated to prevent the spread of Acinetobacter Baumannii — a bacteria often found in military field hospitals.

"There is nothing to be worried about and this bacteria does not pose a threat for the population," hospital spokeswoman Genevieve Dupuis said Thursday.
