Downtown Montreal's 2-22 building is a go

Eight storeys; To serve as gateway to new Quartier des spectacles.

Montreal's public consultation bureau has given a thumbs-up to the building called 2-22, planned to serve as the gateway for the city's entertainment district.

The report, made public yesterday by the Office de consultation publique de Montréal, said most of those who spoke out at consultation sessions in the spring were in favour of the building, which is to be erected on the southeast corner of St. Laurent Blvd. and Ste. Catherine St. The 2-22, which corresponds to the civic addresses the building will occupy on Ste. Catherine St. E., is one of two buildings planned for the intersection. Both are to be built by Angus Development Corp.
