Alouettes Pummel Blue Bombers 39-12 -- Montreal Gazette

WINNIPEG – Fred Reid might want to reconsider opening his mouth again – at least before he's about to face the Alouettes.

Reid, the Winnipeg running back who suggested this week that Montreal's defence, especially its linebackers, wasn't that good, was a virtual non-factor – kind of like his team's offence – last night as the Als administered a 39-12 drubbing over the Blue Bombers before 25,053 disappointed Canad Inns Stadium spectators.

Other than a 27-yard run late in the third quarter, following a few leaps and bounds, Reid was held in relative check by a swarming Montreal defence whose pride had been wounded after learning of Reid's comments.
