Poor Weather Rains On Lanaudiere Fest's Attendance

The Lanaudiere Festival suffered an attendance setback of less than 10 percent this summer, a result the directors consider positive in view of the weather they faced.

The four-week festival, which concluded Sunday, Aug. 2 afternoon, attracted 55,000 listeners, down from 60,000 in 2008. LanaudiEre managing director Francois Bedard equated this drop with `four lawns`-- four rainy evenings at the amphtheatre near Joliette that attracted few if any picnickers.
