MONTREAL – Andy Murray believes fitness is the key to his success and he proved it by outlasting Juan Martin del Potro, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (3), 6-1, in the final of the $3-million Rogers Cup Canadian Open tennis championships Sunday.
The temperature at court level at the Uniprix Stadium topped 40 Celsius, but that was no concern for Murray, who prepared for the summer hardcourt season with two weeks of intensive training in steamy Miami.
