Quebec, Montreal Housing Starts Decline

MONTREAL - Residential construction in Quebec cities declined last month, according to a survey by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

According to the survey, 3,080 dwellings were started province-wide in July, compared with 3,348 a year earlier. Starts in metropolitan areas of Quebec remained stable at 2,584 in July 2009, compared with 2,582 the year before.
