KINGSTON, Ont. — A Montreal couple and their teenage son were scheduled to appear in court Thursday to face charges in the deaths of four women found dead in a submerged car in the Rideau Canal in June.
Mohammad Shafia, 56, wife Tooba Mohammad Yahya, 39, and son Hamed Shafia, 18, are charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of the couple's three daughters, Zainab, 19, Sahari, 17 and Geeti, 13, along with a 50-year-old woman, Rona Amir Mohammad, believed to be the father's first wife.
