Westmount Mayor Karin Marks Won't Seek Re-Election

MONTREAL - After 18 years on Westmount city council, Westmount Mayor Karin Marks has announced she will not seek another term.

Marks was elected mayor in 2001 and was re-elected in 2005.

“When I was elected four years ago I made a commitment to my family and to myself that this would be my final mandate,” Marks said at a press conference Monday morning at Westmount City Hall. “Although it is always difficult to leave something you love to do, I was comfortable with that decision then, as I am now.”
