Windstorm Batters Lac Brome Area

A powerful storm swept through Lac Brome, Que., Monday night, ripping trees out of the ground, damaging cars and boats, and knocking out power for hundreds of residents.
Winds reached 120 km/h in what Environment Canada's René Héroux described as a microburst, rather than a tornado.
"A microburst is when winds blow in a straight line as opposed to a twister," Héroux said.
